‘A Night of Fashion, Music and Art -
A Benefit to Support Children’s Art Programming in Haiti’
June 20th 6-11pm at 1Oak NYC.
Hosted by; award-winning photographer Marc Baptiste, Ford Models Monica Watkins, Guadalupe Tomic, and Heather Ann Burton, America’s Next Top Model Winner/ Click Model Dani Evans, Supermodel Ernesto Araujo, Steve Azor of Tripp TV Channel 28, Erin Gabriella of Makeover Nightlife, Leora Edut of The Art Of Beauty Experience, Shana Pederson and Laura Trevino of Life Preservers Project, Etienne Deyans of Tapis Rouge and designer and co-founder of Pastry Shoes and star of ‘Run’s House’, Angela Simmons.
Runway Haiti is producing a fashion show which will begin at 8pm and feature Haitian designers Berny Martin of Catou Wear and Charles C Dieujuste. Other designers include Sathya Balakumar and JensenMartin. A special live musical performance will be donated by Grammy nominated Universal Records recording star Shontelle and Catey Shaw starting at 9:30pm, while celebrity DJ Jephte Guillaume, will spin throughout the night. Art for the event will be donated by several artists including Shana Pederson, Joe Barnett and Catey Shaw and will be included in a silent auction.

In 2008, Monica Watkins started Art in Motion to discover and give a voice to incredible young talent from the inner-city who have a burning desire to be part of something greater than themselves, with an emphasis on charity, social consciousness, artistic freedom and global harmony. Over the past several years, Monica has managed artists, hosted the Art in Motion TV/Radio Show at Urban Latino Radio, shot, directed, and edited film and photography campaigns, organized and produced numerous charity events, concerts, and art exhibits throughout NYC and has raised thousands of dollars for organizations such as Housing Works in NYC and Haiti’s Hope.

Life Preservers Project Founded by Shana Pederson in 2009. Life Preservers Inc. is a 501c3 arts collective with the sole purpose of raising funds and awareness for the neediest of all, including the young victims of human trafficking. We are pleased to announce an exciting new collaboration with Art in Motion. Life Preservers has pledged to use the arts to raise money for Art Day Celebration and the children at Diakonos Orphanage in Haiti.
